Wendy Red Star @ Gathering Gallery

In the Shadow of Paper Mountains, is the title of Wendy Red Star’s exhibition.  Her artistic practice draws upon her upbringing within Apsáalooke culture alongside conceptual art strategies, pop culture, museo-logical traditions, and the reconfiguration of colonial narratives. Her methodology invokes bathos and humor alongside a scholarly approach to material and archival research, intertwining both public and personal histories. Through her innovative approach to photography, sculpture, video, fiber arts, and performance, she invites viewers to engage in a thoughtful exploration of cultural narratives and their evolution over time.
