Anne-Katrin Purkiss @ The Lightbox, Woking

This exhibition, Great Minds, displays a selection of portrait photographs of leading artists, writers and scientists from the archive of Anne-Katrin Purkiss.   It is dedicated to women working in creative professions, defined broadly to encompass scientific as well as artistic production.

The images are brought together in order to challenge our unconscious bias of a successful scientist or artist as a male figure. These portraits are a tribute to women of different generations and backgrounds who share an exceptional creative ability and who have thus become an inspiration to others—both women and men.
