Description
Join us on February 24th for an exclusive, curator led tour with V&A Parasol Foundation Curator of Women in Photography, Fiona Rogers, at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
The tour will focus on American Photographs, the V&A’s collection of photography from the United States – one of the largest outside North America – revealing the breadth of the country’s photographic traditions and the central role of image-making in American life. Fiona will focus on feminist perspectives in this display ranging from the fight for suffrage in the 19th century to today’s intersectional campaigns for gender justice. The struggle for women’s rights in the United States has encompassed more than a century of legal, political and cultural battles.
We will then proceed to a viewing of the new contemporary display in Photography Now. The latter includes the first Parasol Foundation commission by Japanese artist Mari Katayama.
Date and time: 24th February at 3pm. Meeting location provided on RSVP.
Cost: £15 Patrons, £20 for Friends and £25 for Guests
