Description
Start your weekend with a taste of art and a toast as we learn about the works of Sarah Ball, acclaimed portraitist and Holly Hendry, sculptor and installation artist. For those who missed our evening outing in January, join us for the magic of an evening of art.
Sarah Ball’s portraits explore gender and identity. She captures nuances of hair, make-up, clothes and jewelry to question whether appearance defines the person. Yet, the details become impersonal, rendering the figures anonymous and slightly surreal.
In Holly Hendry’s exhibit, Fatty Acids, the sculptor uses forms identified with machines to create images of the human body to challenge distinctions between the physical, the emotional and the mechanical.
Cost: Patrons and one guest free; Friends £20; Guests £30.
