Description

Sotheby’s welcomes UK Friends for a private specialist-led tour, aligned with International Women’s Day, of its (Women) Artists sale. This addition to the auction calendar builds on current momentum to celebrate long undervalued female creativity. Uniquely positioned within the art market, Sotheby’s will address important questions with regards to the market for women artists and in addition, explore the role of the woman throughout art history, both as artist and muse. (Women) Artists offers original perspectives, innovative dialogues and works selected to intrigue both new and established collectors.

Also on display is Form: (Women) Makers, which explores and reimagines the presentation of pottery by female makers.  Highlights include works by Dames Magdalene Odundo and Lucie Rie,  and Jennifer Lee OBE.

Cost:  Patrons and one guest – free; Friends £20; Guests £30.

Nearest tube: Green Park, Bond Street or Oxford Circus
