Arpita Singh and Marina Tabassum Pavilion at the Serpentine

Chris Bayley will introduce the Serpentine 2025 Pavilion A Capsule in Time, designed by Marina Tabassum and her firm MTA (Marina Tabassum Architects). Celebrated for her work in establishing an architectural language that is both contemporary and deeply connected to a specific place, climate, context, culture, and history, Marina Tabassum brings her distinctive vision to the Serpentine Pavilion 2025. Her design evokes a meaningful dialogue between the permanent and ephemeral nature of the commission.

This will be followed by a curator tour with Tamsin Hong of Remembering, Arpita Singh’s first solo institutional exhibition outside India, featuring key works selected in close collaboration with the artist from her prolific career spanning more than six decades. Singh’s paintings centre on her emotional and psychological state, drawing from Bengali folk art and Indian stories, interwoven with experiences of social upheaval and global conflict.
