Zarouhie Abdalian @ Pippy Houldsworth Gallery

Zarouhie Abdalian  has created a site-specific installation for The Box, the gallery’s micro project space, con sordino (2021), which advances Abdalian’s preoccupation with the relationship between sound, space, and society.

This audiovisual sculpture is composed of a single brass signalling bell continuously yet subtly ringing out from within The Box. A found object, the bell is likely to have once served as a small ship’s bell, primarily used for preventing collisions in foggy conditions.
