Renate Bertlmann & others @ Richard Saltoun Gallery

28 September 2021 - 13 November 2021

Hannah Arendt in her essay The Crisis in Culture, considers the social and political implications of what she understands as a crisis in culture. The idea is represented by Pamela ROSENKRANZ in her sculpture Pour Yourself , which functions like a catchy advertising slogan promoting bottled water as a lifestyle accessory for the health conscious.

The drawings of Renate BERTLMANN, who was overlooked for decades, but is receiving much-deserved attention recently for embodying fundamental freedoms, such as freedom of expression.

Annette MESSAGER, who presents seven sculptures from her recent Sleeping Songs series, which pay homage to the most fragile in our society, particularly those individuals forced to flee their country due to persecution, armed conflicts, natural disasters or other crises or violence.
