Emily Talbot’s practice invites the viewer to enter a distinctive and idiosyncratic painted world in Entrances & Exits. In this place of autobiographical memory, pictures co-exist with song lyrics, quotes from poems and Talbot’s own writing. Separate elements are interwoven with her fluid brush work.
Throughout Talbot’s work, the passing of time, life’s entrances and exits are noted, inscribed and decorated. She articulates what is experienced and imagined in life, whether awake or dreaming. The exhibition will show case some of Talbot’s recent paintings on silk, drawings and prints.
