Curator-led Tour of the New Hall Art Collection, Cambridge
2 November 2016 at 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Starting in the 1990s with just a few pieces, the New Hall Art Collection at Murray Edwards College at Cambridge now has over 450 paintings, prints and sculpture, making it the second largest collection of art by women in the world. Much of the collection has been given to the College by the artists themselves and includes significant pieces by Elisabeth Frink, Elizabeth Blackadder, Barbara Rae, Anne Redpath and Barbara Hepworth. Please join us for this great day out to view the collection with the curator and learn more about the fascinating history of this unique collection — considered the most significant of its kind in Europe. We will be treated to lunch in “The Dome” after the visit.
