Description

Join us to celebrate the sixth Women to Watch programme, this year featuring female artists who focus on paper as a means of expression.    The Women to Watch exhibition series features emerging or underrepresented artists from the states and countries in which NMWA has outreach committees. From illustrative to sculptural, this year’s exhibition explores paper as an artistic medium and features works by Sophie Bouvier Ausländer; Mary Evans; Ludovica Gioscia; Charlotte McGowan-Griffin; and Abigail Reynolds.

We open our UK exhibition of our five shortlisted artists on 13 September, but join us the night of the 12th for a special guided tour led by the artists in conversation with the curator. Wine and cocktails will be served.

This key note event for UK Friends of NMWA will help us to defray the costs of mounting the show, and sending the British artist selected by the National Museum of Women in the Arts to Washington DC in June 2020 to represent the UK at the US exhibition.  We thank Sotheby’s for their support making this exhibition happen.

6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at Sotheby’s St George Street Gallery.
