Private visit to the Government Art Collection

Please join us for this unique opportunity to be taken behind the scenes of the UK Government’s extraordinary art collection. Since 1898, the government has been collecting art to promote artists who have a strong British connection and displaying it in over 450 government buildings – including Downing Street — both home and abroad. There are over 540 women artists represented in the collection.  On our private tour we will see many selected works, learn about the history of the collection and its role in cultural diplomacy, and understand how conservation work is needed to prepare artworks for travel and display.
