Libby Sellers @ The Design Museum

December 7, 2018 - December 8, 2018

To mark the centenary since women first voted in the UK, Libby Sellers and the Design Museum host a two-day series of talks on women in design.  The workshop commemorates the suffragettes’ ultimate victory, and provide a stark reminder of the need to improve gender equality in the industry,

By exploring historical injustices, and analysing contemporary design culture, Women Design hopes to create a difference in the representation of women in design. There will be lectures, conversations and round table discussions by leading practitioners, curators, educators and critics. Topics will include the gendering of history, the role of education and mentoring, diversity and inclusion in design and the prospect of a genderless future, from an array of  speakers: Saskia Sassen, Farshid Moussavi, Odile Decq, Emily King, Frith Kerr, Marina Willer, Nelly Ben Hayoun, Tamar Shafrir, Gabriel A. Maher, Alice Twemlow, Penny Sparke, Catherine Ince, Matylda Krzykowski, Shumi Bose, Christine Checinska, Yasmin Shariff, Pat Kirkham, Ann Coxon, Noemi Blager, Tulga Beyerle and Jane Hall.
