Curator-led tour of Terrains of the Body:Photography from NMWA at Whitechapel

Please join us as the doors open to Terrains of the Body: Photography from NMWA for a tour of the exhibition by Whitechapel curator, Lydia Yee.
Terrains of the Body:  Photography from NMWA is the first showing outside of the US of part of NMWA’s rich collection of contemporary photography by women.  The exhibition presents work by seventeen contemporary women photographers who explore social and political ideas using the human body.  By turning their camera to women, including themselves, these artists embrace the female body as a vital medium for storytelling, expressing identity and reflecting individual and collective experience.  Artists include Candida Höfer, Justine Kurland, Nikki S Lee, Shirin Neshat, Marina Abramović and Hellen van Meene.
This exhibition is supported by UK Friends of NMWA to mark our 10th Anniversary as a UK charity.
