Curator Led Tour of Italian Fashion

9 May 2014 at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Italian FashionJoin us for a curator led walk through of The Glamour of Italian Fashion focusing on the amazing women driving the Italian fashion industry’s rise to prominence.
We have the honour of being guided through the exhibition by Sonnet Stanfill, curator. ‘Italian fashion is a story of rags to riches almost, as the post-war country recovers and becomes a key place for manufacture, design and entrepreneurial risk taking that cuts right across businesses,’ said Stanfill (in the Daily Mail). ‘This is the compelling story which we describe in the exhibition.’
The exhibition presents a glamorous, comprehensive look at Italian Fashion from the end of the Second World War to the present day. Our tour will highlight the key women that have contributed to Italy’s reputation for quality and style, including female members of the major fashion houses such as Missoni and Prada, lesser known creatives such as the Fontana sisters, actresses such as Audrey Hepburn and Liz Taylor.
Patrons: £10, Friends £15 and Guests £25. RSVP to RSVP@UKFriendsofNMWA.org.
